Obituary

Alberta F. Allen Booth, 80, of St. Joseph, formerly of Villa Grove, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

Alberta was born on August 31, 1942 in Tuscola to Archie and Erma (Williams) Allen.  She married Lewis “Luke” W. Booth on February 19, 1997; he preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Nancy Stokes, and brother Robert “Butch” Allen.

She is survived by her brother, Eric “Chris” Allen of Altamonte Springs, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Alberta graduated from Villa Grove High School and worked at Universal Bleachers for many years, then worked at a post office in Texas before her retirement.  One of her biggest accomplishments was being able to publish three books. When she wasn’t writing she loved to watch football games on TV and was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.  She also enjoyed playing the piano and would play the organ at the Living Hope Fellowship Church in Villa Grove.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at the Villa Grove Cemetery with Pastor Randy Walters officiating.
