Barbara S. Coslet

Barbara Sue Coslet, 82, of Murdock Illinois passed at Carle Foundation Hospital on July 14 at 3:45 AM.

Barbara Sue (Hackett) was born January 17, 1941 to Russell and Bernice (Albritton) Hackett in Villa Grove Illinois.

She married Harold Duane Coslet May 21, 1961 in Murdock Illinois. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before Harold passed in 2021.

She is survived by daughter, Ellen Sue (Coslet) Lindsey, and grandson, Joseph Russell Lindsey of Urbana; and son, Duane Harold (Jennifer) Coslet, and grandson, Ethan Patrick Coslet, of Tuscola.

Barbara had one sister Karen Joan Hackett of Urbana and four sister-in-law’s Dorothy (Louis) Badger, Georgia (Danny) Barnes, Julia (Jerry) Hudson and Lora Coslet. She has two nephews, Dale Barnes and Caleb Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, son Joseph Clark Coslet; granddaughter, Ann Marie Lindsey; and one niece, Alisha Hudson.

Barbara worked at the U of I in Residential Life, Engineering, and Steno Services. She became the Postmaster in 1973 at the Murdock Post Office. She retired from there in 2000.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Murdock Cemetery; Pastor Mike Zylstra will be officiating.
