Brittany D. Cordes

Brittany D. Cordes, 31, of Villa Grove passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Carle Hospital.

She was born to Richard and Catrina (Beaty) Walker on November 25, 1990 in Watseka, IL.  She married Kenneth Cordes on June 29, 2017 in Daytona Beach, FL.

Brittany is survived by her husband, Kenny Cordes; two children, Mattison Dawn Cordes and Kayln Jo Cordes; her mother, Catrina Akers; three siblings Michael Miller, Cody Walker, and Ashley Walker; her grandma, Loletta Stroud; step father, Tim Akers; niece, Adelyn Mae; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Walker; and a nephew, Kaiden Simpson.

Brittany graduated from Villa Grove High School in 2009 and then attended Parkland College.  She worked at Old Navy in Tuscola as the Assistant Manager.  Brittany loved going to dirt track races with her family, especially the late model races.  Her and her husband spent a lot of time in the gym at the school and out at the ball fields watching their kids play sports.  She always had to have skittles and popcorn from the concession stand.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, and most of all she loved being with her family. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the Joines Funeral Home (Villa Grove) with Mr. Ted Shearer officiating. Burial will follow at the Centennial Cemetery.  A visitation will be held three hours prior to the funeral service (10 am – 1pm) at the funeral home.
