Cynthia Louise (Payton) Kirkman, 75, of Camargo, IL gained her heavenly reward on Sunday, Feb 18th, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in 1948 to Melvin and Nephenia (Elder) Payton. She graduated from Villa Grove High School and met Marty, the love of her life and married him at the Villa Grove United Pentecostal Church. She worked at several places including the U of I and Fabrionics before finally enjoying many years as a typesetter at the Villa Grove Newspaper.
Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Marty, both parents, and three sisters, Mary Payton, Dorothy Hogue, and Bonnie Delimont and is survived by her two brothers, John Payton and Don Payton and her two daughters, Kris (Spencer) McPheron and Tricia (Ron) Floyd, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren who she dearly loved.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 22nd from 4 to 6pm with a funeral service at 6pm at Joines Funeral Home on Rt 130 in Villa Grove. Pastor Les Cotton of Apostolic Life in Urbana will be officiating.
The family would like to give special recognition to our amazing cousin, Sis (Delimont) Akins for her tremendous help during our mother’s last few weeks of life. She was used by God to make a difficult time into a peaceful, loving memory.
We would like for any memorials to be made to Lifeline Connect at Apostolic Life or Carle Hospice.
