Dane A. Jensen

Dane A. Jensen, 36, of Villa Grove, IL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Carle Hospital in Urbana.  

Dane was born to Paul and Traci (Ray) Jensen on December 28, 1989 in Urbana.  He married Kara Hooper on November 9, 2019 in Savoy.

He is survived by his wife, Kara Jensen; children, Laken, Jake, and Spencer Jensen; sisters, Natalie (Lucas) Tabellija and Alisha (Bob) Beringer; and grandparents, Pat and Janet Keefe.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Janet Jensen; and maternal grandpa, Dennis Ray.

A 2008 graduate of Villa Grove High School, Dane built a career with the Local 703 Union, where he worked for 12 years. He loved the freedom of riding his Harley, the peace of days spent fishing, and the simple joy of being outdoors. Above all, he cherished his family and friends deeply and brought laughter wherever he went. His quick wit, warm presence, and ability to brighten any room will be remembered by all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Joines Funeral Home in Villa Grove.  Burial will follow at the Centennial Cemetery.  Pastor Mike Zylstra will be officiating.  

The family will also be holding a celebration of life in honor of Dane at a later date.
