Deborah Faye Cargal (Debie Perdue), 69, formerly of Fort Deposit, AL, passed away in Villa Grove, IL in the early hours of Monday, February 21st.
Debie was born in 1952, in Fort Deposit, Alabama, the daughter of Opal and James Perdue. She attended Lowndes County High School. She had two daughters, Tonya and Amy, then later moved to Illinois. She was the best story teller, enjoyed writing poetry, reading, gardening, listening to music (especially Laine Hardy from American Idol ha-ha!), and talking to anyone who would listen- she truly knew no stranger! She was spunky, spirited, and stubborn (all in the best ways) and though she will be missed every day, her tenacious spirit lives on.
Debie was preceded in death by her sister Peggy Sue, her father, James, her grandfather, Tom, her grandmother, Ida, her mother Opal, and her daughter, Tonya.
She is survived by her daughter Amy Stoudenmire (Cohen Burnett), her brother, Ricky (Sheila), brother Eddie, Sister, Gayle, Brother, Keith, 6 grandchildren, Jillian Nichols, Emily Kersey Fender (Cameron), Ryan Patton, Aidan Patton, Hannah Patton, Addilyn Burnett, one great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be an interment of ashes and celebration of life at Bethel Methodist Church in Fort Deposit, AL on April 16th.
We want to give a special thank you to all the healthcare workers at Carle who always went above and beyond, showed compassion, gave comfort, and confirmed and strengthened her faith over and over again.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Carle Hospice (https://carle.org/giving/make-a-gift).
