Doris D. Hatten

Doris D. Hatten, 89, of Villa Grove passed away at Carle Hospital in Urbana on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Doris was born on January 7, 1935 in Mattoon, IL to Roscoe and Mildred (Baughman) Bishop.  She married Frank E. Hatten on October 8, 1949 in Kentucky.  He preceded her in death in March of 2018.

Also preceding her in death are her parents; one daughter, Becky Fellner; son-in-law, Dan Fellner, two brothers, Joe and Eddy Bishop; and one sister, Mary Fitzpatrick.

She is survived by six children, Dale Hatten, Allen Hatten, Carolyn Wells, Susan Custer, along with another son and daughter; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Doris’s favorite place to be was outside tending to her flower garden.  She was always very proud of all of her flowers. She was an amazing cook and would always put on a spread for her family and friends.  What Doris enjoyed the most though was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; especially granddaughter Raven and great-grandchildren Aleah, Tessa, and Ava.  Doris will be missed by all of her family and friends.

Services will be held at a later date.
