Fred Trevarthan III, 85, of Newman, IL, died peacefully at home October 5, 2024, surrounded by family. Fred was born in 1939 to Fred and Ruth Trevarthan. He graduated from Indiana State University.
He retired from the University of Illinois. A lifelong musician, he was a bass player in the Gene Trimble Band. He served as a deacon at the First Christian Church of Newman.
Fred is survived by his wife, Mary, sister Ann Trevarthan, daughter Denise (D'Arcy) Ballinger, son Ken Trevarthan, step-daughters Laura (Stan) Sarentino, Kim Everman and Shannon (David) Culler, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday, October 11 at 10 am at the First Christian Church at 107 W. Green Street in Newman. A graveside service will take place at a later date at Roselawn Cemetery in West Terre Haute, IN.
