Gary R. Armstrong

Gary Robert Armstrong passed away in Elburn, IL on May 11, 2026. He was born on September 5, 1943 in Tuscola, son of Robert Armstrong and Joyce Coslet Armstrong. He married Jane Pilon on October 24th, 1980.

 Surviving are his wife Jane Pilon Armstrong, daughter, Christina (Eric) Bergbower of Newton, IL; son Chad (Melissa) Armstrong of Effingham, IL; stepdaughter Janice (Terry) Byers of Menifee, CA; stepson Jason (Jeannine) Mueller of Elgin, IL; sister Sarah Armstrong Kirchner of Bonaire, GA;  grandchildren; Shauna, Justin (Rachel), Cody, Brittney Bergbower, Aly, Taylor, Kristen, Natalie, Heather (Brian) Goade, Lindsay, Dustin(Ayesha) Byers, Jordyn (Wesley) Moeller, Jarrett (Laura), Coffy Mueller, along with 10 great grandchildren. 

 Gary had a long successful entrepreneurship and management career in transportation, a Military Veteran, and longtime Mason member. 

Visitation will be held from 1-2:30pm on Sunday, May 31, 2026 with the funeral service starting at 2:30pm at Joines Funeral Home in Villa Grove. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Camargo.
