Gerald “JP” Quinn a beloved individual known for his kind, loving, and caring personality walked through heavens gates on January 10, 2025. His incredible spirit is carried on through his wife of 35 years Traice Quinn, his daughters Miranda Hahney and Taylor (Alex) Greifenkamp. Grandsons Mack Hahney and Milo Greifenkamp. He also leaves behind his siblings Pam (Duane) Cook, Charles (Laurie) Quinn, Windy Fultz, Kyle Quinn, Jason Wilson, and James “Jimbo” Arbuckle. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Charles Quinn, mother Lois Wilson, step-father Jerry Wilson and grandparents Louis and Mary Wengler and Paul and Inez Quinn and a grandchild, Skylar Hahney.
Gerald “JP” Paul Quinn was born on February 20, 1970 in Urbana, IL. He attended Villa Grove Schools where he met his wife Traice and they fell in love when he was just a freshman and she was in 8th grade and the rest is history. They married on August 5, 1989. JP worked for many years at Horizon Hobby and Stone Wheel, but most recently at Dust n Son’s. JP’s real passion was for his family. He fiercely loved his wife, daughters, and grandsons. He was always coaching a sport when the girls were younger and was truly the best dance dad ever. He and his wife loved going to the movies and out to eat. He enjoyed cooking and creating new recipes for his family to try. Animals, especially cats were another great love of his. Two very notable things about JP are that you would never catch him wearing anything but shorts and the man never stopped moving, he was constantly tinkering with or creating something.
JP will live on in our hearts and memories forever. He was the rock of his family.
A celebration of JP’s life will be held at JRs lounge in Villa Grove on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 1-3 PM.
Donations can be made directly to Joines funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
