Halee Cummins Obituary

Halee (Yeager) Cummins passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 10:26 p.m. at Willow Breeze Hospice House in Mattoon, Illinois. She was 39 years young.

Born on October 13, 1985, in Urbana, Illinois, Halee was the beloved daughter of Jacki Panzer of Camargo, Illinois, and Steve Yeager of Decatur, Illinois. She grew up in Villa Grove, where she made countless cherished memories with her siblings: Richard Yeager (Phoenix, AZ), Trevor Yeager (Aurora, CO), and Ashley Yeager-Allen (Ryan Allen, Chicago, IL). Halee graduated from Villa Grove High School in 2004.

On November 29, 2010, Halee married Brian Cummins in Oakland, Illinois. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and family. Their greatest joy came from raising their children, Lilianna Yeager-Pace (Devin Pace, Evansville, IN) and Charlie Cummins (Oakland, IL).

Behind the grill at J&J’s or gathered around the table with loved ones, Halee lived life for her family and friends. She loved every holiday—cooking, decorating, playing games, and always creating traditions with her family. If she wasn’t outside enjoying the fresh air, you could find her watching Gilmore Girls, eating Mexican food, building Legos, coloring, or just being silly with the people she loved most.

Above all, Halee was known for her big heart, her deep love for family, and her unwavering commitment to making every moment count.

She is survived by her mother, Jacki Panzer; her father, Steve Yeager; siblings Richard, Trevor, and Ashley; her husband, Brian Cummins; her children, Lilianna and Charlie; unborn granddaughter Yeager/Pace; stepsister Nanette Oganovich (Orange Beach, FL); and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends—and her cherished cat, Grabey.

Halee is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Cletis and Illeana Yeager, maternal grandparents Richard and Florence Wikoff, paternal aunt Billie Koch, maternal aunt and uncles Richard Wikoff, Dennis Wikoff, Dudley Wikoff, and Karen York, and step father John Panzer.

A celebration of Halee’s life will be held on Saturday, October 11th, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 675 N. County Rd N. 1800, Camargo, IL 61919, just the way she wanted—laid-back, cozy, and full of fall spirit. Please dress comfortably and for outdoor weather.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ashley Allen and will be used to start a college fund for Halee's son Charlie.
