Isaac Newton Coolley III, 82, of Brocton passed away at 10:30 P.M. on Thursday, September
17, 2020 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon.
He was born on September 8, 1938 in Danville, Illinois, the son of I.N. Coolley, Jr and Bernice
Popp Coolley. He married Ellen Glasgow on March 18, 2006.
Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M. at Fairfield Cemetery, Newman, Illinois on Monday,
September 21, 2020 with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. There is no visitation. Joines Funeral
Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen, stepson David (Jerri) Tincher and stepdaughters Tammy
Culler and Beth Tincher, step-grandchildren Ashley Tincher, Kyle Tincher, Kaitlin Culler,
Virginia Culler, Casondra Wittenborn, Lindsey Hagen and seven step-great grandchildren. He is
also survived by two brothers, Paul (Patricia) Coolley, and Will Coolley. He was preceded in
death by his parents.
He graduated from Culver Military Academy and Eastern Illinois University. He was a
member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Paris. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and
was a 54-year member of the Robert Willoughby American Legion Post 0977, Brocton. He
farmed in the Brocton area his entire life after his discharge from the Navy.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Grace Lutheran Church
or the Robert Willoughby American Legion Post 0977.
