Kenneth E. Pyle, 84, of Villa Grove passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
Kenny was born on July 25, 1938 in Villa Grove to Monte and Lesta (Cravens) Pyle. He married Shirley York on January 17, 1996 in Villa Grove; she survives.
Also surviving are his four children, Debbie Reynolds, Darren Pyle, Dawn Pyle, and Monte Pyle; two step kids, Shawna Krauth and Rick Postlewait Jr.; 4 grandchildren, McKenzi Pyle, Abigail Pyle, Jacob Pyle, and Brittani Russell; 5 step-grandchildren, TJ Boatright, Danielle Boatright, Myles Boatright, Alisha Boatright, and Lucas Krauth; and three great-grandchildren, Ryker Russell, Arika Russell, and Alyvia Russell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Pyle.
Kenny worked at Cap and Gown for several years, at the Tuscola Nursing Home, and spent 39 years working for the railroad. He enjoyed collecting coins, was a St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved his dog Bengi, and really enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports as they grew up.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the Joines Funeral Home with Frances Hoshauer officiating; burial will follow at the Villa Grove Cemetery. A Visitation will be held an hour prior to the funeral service (12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
