Mada Faye Means, 85, of Metcalf passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at her home.
Faye was born on March 28, 1938 in Albany, KY to Johnny Floyd and Loma Mae (Hall) Brumley. She married Caleb Means in October of 1953 in Albany, KY; he preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, one great-granddaughter, three brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by three children, Lisa (Mike) Steeples, David (Ramona) Means, and Debbie (Bill) Coombes; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one sister Anna (Otis) Denney; and several nieces and nephews.
Faye started out life working as a cook at various places. Once she was married and started to have kids, she became a stay-at-home mom and took care of her family for the rest of her life. She loved to be outside tending to her garden and enjoyed taking walks around her neighborhood.
A visitation will be held from 10 – 12 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Joines Funeral Home in Newman with the funeral service beginning at 12 p.m.; Pastor Mike Zylstra will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Young America Cemetery north of Hume.
