It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Madonna Jean (Hutchison) Thomas walked her last million miles on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the age of 92.
Born on June 10, 1932, to Hastin Hutchison and Mamie Potter Hutchison in Villa Grove, Illinois where she grew up. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Harley Thomas, who she married on February 18, 1950.
Madonna Thomas was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and warm personality, making people laugh with her wit.
She is survived by her children, Rusty (Mary Etta) Thomas, Rod (Toni) Thomas, Daughter - in - Law Kelly Thomas; grandchildren Travis (Leanne), Jeff and Chad Thomas; four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Hastin and Mamie Hutchison; husband, Harley Thomas; son, Rock Thomas, and four sisters and two brothers.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13 at 10:00 am, at Broadus Cemetery rural Tuscola, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Douglas County Animal Shelter or donor’s choice in memory of Madonna Thomas.
