Our mother and grandmother, Marjorie Shearer, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Arbor Rose Senior Center in Tolono, IL.
She was born on January 22, 1926 to Charlie and Eva Ferrill. She married Joe Shearer on November 17, 1946 in Weldon, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Eva Ferrill; husband, Joe Shearer; and two brothers, Don and Ross Ferrill.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Gene) Jeske; son, Ted (Stevie) Shearer; grandson, Dack Shearer; granddaughter, Amanda (Bill) Bozdech; and two great-grandsons, Case and Gage Bozdech.
Marjorie was a dedicated disciple of Christ who brought everyone she could to Christ as a certified lay speaker, and bible study fellowship leader. Her devotion and love for Christ was a shining example for all to follow in their own relationships with HIM. She was instrumental in establishing Little Hall on the Prairie and Rural Grace food pantry in Murdock, IL along with so many other programs to bring the community closer to Christ.
The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to all of her in-home health aides, along with the caregivers at Arbor Rose Senior Center and Carle Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at the Murdock church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024 officiated by Pastor Melanie Hoth and Ted Shearer.
Memorial donations may be made to Little Hall on the Prairie and Listening Ear Ministries.
