Marna (Dorothy) E. Marlatt

Marna E. Marlatt (Dorothy), 89, of Villa Grove, passed away Tuesday, October 20 at Carle Foundation Hospital.

Dorothy was born Nov. 23, 1930, in Villa Grove, to George and Goldie Harris McNussen. She married Bill Marlatt on May 19, 1950. Bill preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Kevin Marlatt (Cheryl) of Villa Grove and a daughter, Jackie Lippert (Rob) of Loganville, GA; five grandchildren, Ryan Jacobs of Villa Grove, Tim Jacobs (Angela) of Champaign, Sarah Campbell of Memphis, TN, Katie Holmer (John) of Cleveland, OH and Clayton of Villa Grove; and eight great grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by two half brothers, George Oaks and Dennis Oaks; two half sisters, Evelyn Riddle and Thelma Stoner; and three brothers, Jack, Ned and Dale McNussen.

Dorothy worked for forty years as an accountant. She enjoyed boating, camping and doing crafts. She loved her family fiercely and was always there when one of them needed her.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 24, at the Villa Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or the American Heart Association.
