Mary Jeanne Brown, 80, of Champaign passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the Newman Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Newman.
Mary Jeanne was born on February 28, 1945 in Urbana to Theodore and Rita (Hettinger) Rund. She married Harold Brown on April 12, 1969 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pesotum, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Brown; daughters, Tedra (Allen) Nelk and Julie (Wayne) Woller; grandchildren, Blake Loman, Madigan (Kale) Goff, Reagan Cheely, and Wes Woller; and siblings, Ted (Linda) Rund, Rita Godsell, Don (Elaine) Rund, and Theresa (Denny) Reifsteck.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Rita Rund; brother, Steve Rund; brother-in-law, Bill Godsell; and in-laws, Paul and Hester Brown.
Mary Jeanne graduated from Villa Grove High School in 1963. She worked at the Douglas County courthouse for over 10 years until she retired so she could help take care of her first grandchild.
Mary Jeanne and Harold enjoyed spending their winters in Lakeland, FL where they made many friendships. She also enjoyed gambling, shopping, and most of all following her grandchildren around to their many activities and sporting events.
A visitation will be held from 10am – 12pm on Saturday, January 17, 2026 with a funeral mass beginning at 12pm at the St. Mary Catholic Church rural Pesotum. Burial will be at the Camargo Cemetery. Father Keith Walder will be officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church.
