Peggy L. Daniell (Cutright) of Camargo, Illinois joined her Heavenly family on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Peggy was 91 years old.
Peggy was born April 2, 1934 in Charleston, Illinois to Addison Cleo Cutright and Rosie May Adams-Cutright. She grew up in Charleston with her 7 brothers and sisters. At age 16 she began working at Brown Shoe Factory and eventually met her future husband Donald (Don) Daniell.
Peggy and Don were married in a simple wedding, in the home of a friend, on February 3, 1956. After the wedding Peggy and Don made a home in the Mattoon/Charleston area. They were blessed to welcome their first child Cindy, on November 14, 1956. They welcomed their second, and final blessing, Kris on February 9, 1960.
In 1967 Peggy and her family moved to Wilmington, Illinois where she worked at the Arsenal in Joliet for several years. In 1972 the family made the move to Camargo, Illinois. With the help of family, Peggy and Don purchased The Log Cabin, in Camargo. She and Don ran the tavern together until his death in 2006. Peggy continued to own and operate the tavern with her daughters and grandchildren until 2023. Peggy and the family owned and operated the “Cabin” for 50 Years.
In her younger years, when Peggy was not bartending or spending time with her grandkids, she was an avid bingo player. It was almost like a religion, every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and any other time she could find a game. She also enjoyed playing the lottery daily. Peggy was also a die-hard Chicago Cubs Fan.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband Don, her children, Cindy and Kris, her parents and seven siblings. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Misty Rhoads, Kevin (Emily) Rhoads and “adopted” grandson Teddy Dewitt. Peggy also leaves behind her pride and joy, her great grandchildren Scarlett and Sterling Rhoads. She also leaves behind 2 furry four legged great grand kids. Peggy was not fond of having animals in the house. She came to love Ariel and Alvin. Peggy also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, especially Melody, Titus, and Danny Daniell.
We are heart broken to have lost our matriarch of the family. She was a fiercely stubborn woman. She fought to stay as long as she could. She is now in Heaven with everyone she loves that went home before her. They were all waiting with arms wide open. I know it was an amazing greeting and celebration.
Peggy’s services are as she wished: Visitation will be 10am-12pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Joines Funeral Home, Villa Grove, IL. Graveside service and burial will be at 1pm the same day at Resthaven Memorial Park, Mattoon, IL.
