Rick Snider, 60, of Newman IL, passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his family on November 22nd, 2024. He was born on June 28th, 1964, to John Arthur Snider and Henrietta (Rahn) Snider in Champaign, IL.
Rick spent most of his days trucking and enjoying the open road becoming the best living GPS anyone could ask for. Come spring and fall you would find him in the fields farming with his older brother. His deep love for racing and camping never went unnoticed. You could always spot him wearing a Davenport #49 shirt and hanging out with his racing family making unforgettable memories. Throughout his life he made many friends who then turned into family. He never knew a stranger and always had a way of making you feel special. He always had a caring heart, selfless mindset, and gave the best advice while passing on knowledge and wisdom. Ricks dedication to his family, his work ethic, racing, and his love for others are just a few of the great things that he will be remembered for.
His greatest achievement was his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his fiancé Paula; their three children Cammie Jo Snider (Jesse Postlewait) of Newman, Jordan Boothe(Catherine Sengsommaly) of Champaign, Jacob (Ashley) Danford of Newman; his two stepchildren Trystan DeRousse of Catlin, and Quinten (Alexis) DeRousse of Catlin; their twelvegrandchildren Zayn, Kairi, Angel, Isaac, Isaiah, Ava, Jayce, Prestynn, Harper, Casen and Kinsley; his sister Rita (Don) Hendershot, brother Art Snider, niece Angie (Keith) Batt, and nephew Tim Hendershot. He is preceded in death by his parents and infant Johnathan.
The family would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to Timmy and Kara Bosch for their love and support and the SBL Hospice Team for their amazing care.
A visitation will be held from 11-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7th at Joines Funeral Home in Newman. A Celebration of Rick’s Life will be held at the American Legion Post #201 following.
