Rosemary A Raeske

Rosemary A. Hansen Raeske died August 26, 2024 at her home in Plant City, Florida.

Rosemary was born August 11, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio.  She was the daughter of Herman and Rose Gallagher Hansen.  Her siblings include June Hansen, Rita Steinbeck, Clare Leslie and Jim Hansen (deceased).

Rosemary attended Catholic schools in Cleveland and Strongsville, OH.  She graduated from Nazareth Academy in Parma Heights, OH and Mt. St. Joseph College in 1965.

After serving 2 years in the Philippines as a Peace Corps Volunteer, she worked in the research lab at Cleveland Metropol General Hospital for several years then taught science in St. Joseph Academy in Cleveland, OH.

She married Wayne CJ Raeske (deceased) on June 14, 1974 in Strongsville, OH and moved to Villa Grove, IL.

Rosemary worked in the Archives Department of the Urbana Free Library and retired in 2007.  She really enjoyed this work and extended it into her personal family research.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step-son, David Raeske, step-daughters Kim Raeske Rogers  & Kathy Raeske, spouse, Wayne Raeske and brother, Jim Hansen.

She is survived by son, Scott Raeske of Plant City, FL and stepdaughters Linda Behl of Camargo, IL, Janet Arnett of Fairfax, VA & Patti Fairbanks of Mahomet, IL.

Memorial services will be held on October 19th, 2024 @ 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where Rosemary had been a member for over 40 years.   The burial will be at Villa Grove Cemetery.
