Sarah M. Neff

Sarah M. Neff, 83, of Murdock passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at her home surrounded by family.

Sarah was born to Denzil and Josephine (Hawthorne) Standefer on October 13, 1942 in Macoupin County, IL.

She is survived by her children, Randy (Sandy) Neff, Kandee (Chad) Siegler, and Dawn Fitzgerrel; grandchildren, Ava Siegler, Heather (Brian) Yutzy, Brittney (Darrin) Walstad, and Dustin McKinnon; and great-grandchildren; Kingsley, Charleston, Aria, and Tovie.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Neff, parents, and step-dad, Herbert Boettcher.

Sarah loved her job at the EIU Peace Meal, bringing seniors together for lunch, friendship and laughter. She also assisted in helping with the Rural Grace Pantry for many years. She spent her free time crafting making decorations and loved cooking.  She was an avid reader, and loved all animals, especially her own. She enjoyed sitting outside watching the birds. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family.

Services will be held February 21, 2026 at 11am at Joines Funeral Home in Villa Grove with Mr. Tim Wegeng officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior.
