Shirley A. Pyle

Shirley Ann Pyle (York) ,75, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at her home with her family present.  

Shirley was born on October 26, 1949 at Burnam Hospital in Champaign-Urbana to Edgar Sr. and Mildren York.

She was the 5th out of seven children.  She and her siblings, sisters - Billie, Lou and Sue and brothers - Edgar Jr.  (Eddie) and Robert Steven grew up with their parents in the Tuscola area.  She also had an older brother who died during infancy.   It was there she met and married Richard Postlewait, Sr. and during that union she conceived two children, Shawna Krauth (Fred Jr.) and Richard Postlewait, Jr. (Jamie).  

The couple later divorced and Shirley moved to Villa Grove and she lived there for some time.    She then met and married Kenneth Pyle.   The couple lived at 608 S. Spruce for over 25 years until he passed away in November of 2022.  Shirley then moved to Rantoul, Illinois to be closer to her family.

Shirley loved and adored all her family especially her grandchildren, Terrence Boatright Jr.  (TJ), Danielle Boatright, Myles Boatright, Alisha Boatright, and Lucas Krauth.

Shirley loved to laugh with her friends, especially her best friend Lenita Brown. Lenita and Shirley had been friends since grade school and remained so until her passing.  Shirley also loved helping others, crafting such as sewing, crocheting, and painting. She also had a fondness for watching cowboy shows.

Anyone that really knew Shirley loved her.   She will be missed greatly by everyone this side of Heaven and look forward to reuniting with her in time. 

A visitation will be held from 12 - 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at the Joines Funeral Home in Villa Grove with a funeral service immediately following.  Burial will be at the Centennial Cemetery in Vila Grove.
