Vernon E. Miller

Vernon (Herb) Miller, 89, of Broadlands, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Accolade Healthcare, Paxton, IL. 

Vernon was born on January 19, 1935, in Scottland, Illinois to Ora and Sarah Ella Miller.  He married Darlene Gregor on June 12, 1970, in Broadlands.  She preceded him in death on April 1, 2023.

He is survived by one brother, Earl Y. Miller of Puyllop, Washington, one daughter, Terri (Rick) Winchester of Salem, IL, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters.

Herb was a St. Louis Cardinals and Illini fan.  He loved Broadlands and enjoyed touring the town to visit with friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.  Vernon was a veteran of the US Army and served from 1957 – 1960.

Memorials can be made to the Broadlands Community Club or the Broadlands Fire Department.
