Vicki J. Gentry

Vicki Joan (English) Gentry, 86, of Villa Grove, IL passed peacefully in her home on Wednesday January 22, 2025.

She was born on November 11,1938 to Gerald and Hazel (Athey) English in Detroit, MI.

She was a 1956 graduate of Villa Grove High School.  She married her high school sweetheart Bob D. Gentry on March 3, 1957. 

Vicki started working at the State Bank of Villa Grove right out of High School and continued in banking till she retired in 2002.    She served as Vice President, Director, and Cashier of the First National Bank of Villa Grove and later as Manager, Cashier at the Longview State Bank.

Vicki loved traveling, all animals, especially her cat Buster.  She was an accomplished seamstress and made many items for her family as well as mending and fixing clothing.  She was also known in her family for making the BEST pies!  She also attended numerous Bible Studies including BSF and was a member of the First Chrisitan Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bob D. Gentry, her brother Jerry English, niece Leanne English, and her parents Gerald and Hazel English.

Vicki is survived by her daughter Robin (Steve) Hettinger of Philo and daughter Jill (Bill) Clodfelder of Mahomet. Five grandchildren: Amy (Tony) Marx, Lindi (Jacob) Ferris, Ashley (Anthony) Allwein, Casey (Mairi) Hettinger, and Will Clodfelder; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Vicki will be held Saturday February 1, 2025 at 1:00pm followed by Funeral at 2:00 pm at the First Chrisitan Church 701 N Sycamore Villa Grove, IL 61956.  Burial will follow in the Villa Grove Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Villa Grove.
