William J. Day

William J. Day, 46, of Rantoul passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Methodist Hospital South Campus in Merrillville, IN.

Bill was born on April 20, 1978 in Tacoma, WA to James and Kathy (Fulk) Day.

He is survived by his dad, James Day Jr; one daughter, Maelyn Olivia Elise Day; granddaughter; Ophelia Jade Wylie; nine siblings; James Day of Tolono, Joshua Day of Bloomington, Chuck Prough of Sadorus, Bobby Mathews of Middletown, OH, Nicole Bond of Terre Haute, IN, Christina Watkins of Middletown, OH, Brandon Zook of Montgomery, AL, Tiffaney Day of Ocala, FL, and Mason Day of Ocala, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Kathy Day; maternal grandparents, Bill and Mary Fulk; and paternal grandparents, Jim and Georgia Day.

Bill served three years in the Army with one of the years being a European tour where he was stationed at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany.  Bill enjoyed being outside fishing or sitting around a bonfire with his friends and family.  He also loved to ride his motorcycle and was an avid gamer.  Bill had an infectious smile and was always making people laugh.

A visitation will be held from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025 with a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. all at the Joines Funeral Home in Villa Grove; Pastor Jerry Conner will be officiating.
